Justin Fields, ranked as the No. 1 ranked quarterback prospect in the Class of 2018, committed to the University of Georgia Friday morning during his high-school pep rally.
Fields, a dual-threat native of Kennesaw Georgia, committed to the Bulldogs over Florida State, Auburn, Alabama, and LSU. The Seminoles were said to be the closest competition to luring the 5-star prospect out of his home state.
Fields is a transcendent quarterback of the likes of Cam Newton, Deshaun Watson, and last years Heisman winner Louisville Cardinals’ Lamar Jackson. He had offers from a number of programs looking to add the talented 6-foot-3 225-pound dual-threat athlete. You don’t see too many athletes at his size running a 4.5-second 40-yard dash. This is an exceptional addition to the Bulldogs 2018 class, which has the making of being a top-five class overall when its all said and done.
In just five games this season, Fields has already completed 58 of 96 passes for 974 yards, 12 touchdowns and one interception at Harrison High-School. Georgia has secured its’ future with the commitment of Justin Fields. Check out Fields highlights from Game 5 of this season above.
