DeMarco Murray signs with Eagles, Cowboys fans want Peterson

The 2014 NFL Leading Rusher DeMarco Murray said goodbye to his former team Dallas Cowboys yesterday when he signed a deal with the NFC East Divisional Rival Philadelphia Eagles for reportedly 5 years $42 million, including $21 million guaranteed.

“It was never about the money in any situation.” said Murray. If it was money, I could’ve taken that a long time ago on a very high deal. It’s about winning a Super Bowl and being fair.”

With the departure of Murray, will Jerry Jones and the Cowboys organization turn the page and go after another Oklahoma Sooner RB in Adrian Peterson? It’s kind of ironic how DeMarco Murray was Adrian Peterson replacement with the Sooners in 2007 after Peterson left for the 2007 NFL Draft after his junior year.  Now the tables could be turned and Peterson can replace Murray in Dallas IF the Cowboys decide to put their focus towards the 2012 NFL’s MVP.   Social media blew up after many in Cowboysnation received the news about Murray deciding to go with Eagles.

Some fans were upset, some were wishing Murray well, and others were already looking towards replacing DeMarco in the backfield for next season. Although some Cowboys fans don’t agree with replacing a younger Murray with an older Adrian Peterson, majority of the fans took to Twitter and expressed their feelings about pursuing AP.  Take a look.
