Four Horses to Remember heading towards Kentucky Derby 143

Kentucky Derby 143 is just days away as Derby Hopefuls go through daily works at legendary Churchill to prepare for the sport’s greatest crown.  The 2017 Kentucky Derby will take place in Louisville, Ky. this Saturday, May 6.  The race will begin at about 6:34 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.  Here are my top four horses to remember heading towards Kentucky Derby 143.  In no particular order.

Impressive win in the Florida Derby.  This horse is a competitor. Coming from one of the best early works at Churchill last Friday.  He fights the rider and looks ready to run big in Kentucky Derby 143.  Must Stay Focused this week and not take a step back after an impressive work at Churchill.

“I’m pleased with how they came out of their works yesterday,” Pletcher said. “Always Dreaming (who had worked in a bullet :59.60 under his rider John Velazquez) especially so. He demolished his breakfast after that work, then ate up again last night. You love to see that when you put a good work into them.”

Take a look at his work and win in the 2017 Florida Derby.

Bad Boy of Horse Racing.  Does it his own way.  Works when he wants to work, trains when he wants to train, and runs how he wants to run.  He knows Churchill Downs really well.  This Colt has a chance to do something special if he puts his mind to it.

Finished 3rd in the Lexington Bluegrass, but needed 3rd in the Bluegrass to make it to the Kentucky Derby.  I believe his trainers didn’t want him to go off as the favorite in Kentucky Derby 143, so expect a huge run from this horse come Saturday.  He also has one of my favorite horse trainers in Ian Wilkes.

“That’s what I wanted to see this morning,” Wilkes said. “He’s ready to breeze.”

Santa Anita Derby Winner.   He’s sneaky Impressive and will be a horse know one really will talk about.  He’s versatile and is also a horse that won’t lose anything with a wet track.  His owners won the 2005 Kentucky Derby with 50-1 longshot Giacomo.  Gormley will also be ridden by Hall of Fame rider Victor Espinoza.

Irish War Cry, Practical Joke, and Tapwrit  are my Top 7.   Happy Derby Week!
