Gennady Golovkin vs. David Lemieux Preview, Tale of Tape, Prediction
This Saturday night October 17, 2015, live from Madison Square Gardens in New York the undefeated WBA, IBO, and WBC Interim Middleweight Champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) will compete against the IBF Middleweight title holder David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) for the unification of the World Middleweight Championship. The boxing match is scheduled to be televised live by HBO Pay-Per-View starting at 9PM ET/6 PM PT. Both fighters are knockout artists with an over 80% knockout percentage. This should be an all out brawl from the opening bell.
“This is the biggest test for me. He’s the IBF champ. It’s big situation, unification, Pay-Per-View. Right now it’s a very interesting situation to be in in the middleweight division. I think we have three or four fighters and it’s very important who is number one.”
“I’ve said that I don’t care who I fight, so long as they are the best, and Golovkin is the best out there in the middleweight division,” David Lemieux said. “GGG may be the most feared man in boxing, but after October 17th, there will be a new feared man in the middleweight division. Two very powerful punchers are coming into the ring. There will be blood; there will be fireworks, and I am confident I will emerge victorious.

Let’s be brutally honest for a second, There will be blood and someone will get knocked out before the night it over. Make sure you get this fight if you like to see multiple knockouts. Although Lemieux is the younger fighter of the two, I really do not see in advantages for either fighter. Both have the same reach, both are around the same size and both have the same high knockout ratio. One thing I do notice is Lemieux has a few more fights under his belt and has loss twice in his professional career. Can David Lemieux shock the world? Yes, but I don’t see GGG losing this match. Gennady Golovkin will put Lemieux away before round 7 to be the Unified Middleweight Champion that no one wants to see.
