I recently caught up with Senior Point Guard, Justin Tuckson, who plays for Christ Chapel Academy in Woodbridge, Virginia. He currently is averaging 9.3ppg and 3.0apg. He took some time out of his busy senior basketball season campaign, to do an exclusive interview with me, Trent A. Brinkley. Below is my transcript, with the Senior PG, Justin Tuckson.

Analyzed Sports: You play for Coach Clinton Simmons. What is it like to play for him?

Justin Tuckson: Playing for coach Simmons is great, he’s taught me a lot on and off the court. He’s very hands on and his knowledge for the game is unbelievable.

Analyzed Sports: You are putting up good numbers so far in your senior season; Your keys to success are? 

Justin Tuckson: My keys to success are coming in to practice every day and working hard, I haven’t been shooting the ball very well but staying confident and positive is vital.

Analyzed Sports: What style of offense do you run at Christ Chapel Academy?

Justin Tuckson: Offensively we like to get out in transition and run, mostly motion offenses, passing and cutting.

Analyzed Sports: You have 5 seniors on this basketball team including you, Jordan Griggs, Derrick Bailey, Romello Taylor, and Austin Wrighten; What is it like to play with those guys?

Justin Tuckson: Playing with them is fantastic, every day we push each other in practice to get better and work hard to reach our goals.

Analyzed Sports: Is there a lot of pressure on you to be the team’s starting point guard?

Justin Tuckson: There’s not that much pressure being the team’s PG. My coach’s are hard on me but it comes with being a leader of the team.

Analyzed Sports: How did you get interested in playing basketball?

Justin Tuckson: Since I was a baby a ball was put in my hand, but watching Allen Iverson really made me love the game.

Analyzed Sports: What college are looking to recruit you the hardest for next year?

Justin Tuckson: UVA-Wise is recruiting me the hardest for next year

Analyzed Sports: Who is a Point Guard that you style your game after?

Justin Tuckson: I style my game after Brooklyn Nets PG, Deron Williams, because, he is being versatile, the ability to get to the basket, and getting my shot off anytime.

Analyzed Sports: If you could pick 4 current or past College and Pro players to be on your pick-up team, who would you pick and why?

Justin Tuckson: 4 players I would have on my team are Allen Iverson, Melo, Tracy McGrady, and Kevin Durant. Everybody can score at any point and time.

Analyzed Sports: What is your favorite college basketball team, and your favorite professional team?

Justin Tuckson: University of North Carolina is my favorite college team and the Washington Wizards are my favorite NBA team

Analyzed Sports: Do you have a motivational quote that you look up to?

Justin Tuckson: “I’m chasing perfection” – Kobe Bryant

Analyzed Sports: What does basketball mean to you?

Justin Tuckson: Basketball means determination, hard work, discipline and mental toughness.
