April 10, 2014

It’s officially the off-season for college basketball.   Although the college basketball season is officially over, basketball never stops in the state of Kentucky.  Fans within the state are starting to wonder what the incoming players committed to each specific team will look like for the upcoming season. One of the best All-Star games in the country will showcase the talents of some of college basketball’s future stars.  The Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic is the nation oldest All-Star game. Players who have participated in this event include Jamal Mashburn, Moses Malone, Rex Chapman, Pervis Ellison, Jodie Meeks, Eric Bledsoe, Peyton Siva, Russ Smith, Tyler Ennis, Mario Chalmers, David Lee, Francisco Garcia, Chuck Hayes, Isiah Thomas, Dominique Wilkins, Darrell Griffith, Derek Anderson, Anfernee Hardaway and Michael Beasley.  The Classic will be held in Freedom Hall on April 18, 2014 at 7pm.  Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster for $13 and $18. With the purchase of your ticket, you will also get free admission to The Night of the Future Stars April 17th at Floyd Central High School.  The University of Louisville will have 3 signees playing in the event, while Indiana University will have two on display.  The University of Kentucky will have zero playing in this All-Star game.  High School Seniors are only allowed to choose 2 All Star games, so the UK signees choose to play in the Jordan Brand Classic and the McDonald’s All-American Game leaving them unable to take part in this event.  Here are the rosters below.
