Las Vegas NBA Summer League Box Scores: 

The Memphis Grizzlies wrapped up the Orlando Summer League as the 2015 Orlando Summer League Champions in the 7 day event yesterday afternoon.  On to the Las Vegas Summer which will run from July 10 – July 20 and feature some of the top draft picks in the 2015 NBA Draft, such as Willie-Cauley Stein, Karl-Anthony Towns, and D’Angelo Russell to name a few.  Games were played at Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nevada.

 

MILWAUKEE BUCKS VS. NEW ORLEANS PELICANS

Tipping off first at the Cox Pavilion were the Milwaukee Bucks and the New Orleans Pelicans. Younger brother of the 2015 NBA MVP Seth Curry led the way for the Pelicans scoring a game high 30 points as the Pelicans (1-0) defeated the Bucks 101-89.  Former Cincinnati Bearcat Sean Kilpatrick led the way for the Bucks (0-1) with 24 points 4 rebounds in 26 minutes of play. The Pelicans will take on the Mavericks at 4pm ET Saturday, while the Bucks will face off against the San Antonio Spurs Sunday 07/12 at 6:30 pm ET.  Full Box Score Below.

TORONTO RAPTORS VS. SACRAMENTO KINGS

The Thomas and Mack Center first game featured the number six pick in the 2015 NBA Draft Willie Cauley-Stein’s Sacramento Kings vs. the Toronto Raptors.  The Raptors (1-0) would go on to blow out the Kings (0-1) 90- 68 behind forward Ronald Roberts 14 points and 12 rebounds.  Toronto’s 20th overall pick Delon Wright finished the game with 9 points, 9 assists, and 2 steals.  The Kings were led by James Anderson with 15 points and Willie Cauley-Stein’s 11 points 5 rebounds in the loss to the Raptors.  The Raptors and Kings will not play again until Sunday 07/12 when the Raptors face the Bulls at 6:00 PM ET, and the Kings take on the Nuggets at 8 PM ET.  Full Box Score Below.

ATLANTA HAWKS VS. DENVER NUGGETS

The Denver Nuggets (1-0) and seventh overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft Emmanuel Mudiay defeated the Atlanta Hawks (0-1) 86-71.  Mudiay scored 11 points and dished out 4 assists in the win, while Gary Harris led the Nuggets in scoring with 15 points.  In the loss for the Hawks, Lamar Patterson led the way with 16 points 4 rebounds and 3 assists.  The Hawks didn’t have any 2015 draft picks participated in the Game, as both of their 2nd round picks were overseas players. Atlanta will face the Warriors on Sunday 07/12 at 8:30 pm ET, while the Nuggets will spar off with the Kings Sunday 07/12.  Full Box Score Below.

MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES VS. LOS ANGELES LAKERS

This next match-up was the battle of the number one and two overall 2015 NBA Draft picks in the Timberwolves (1-0) Karl-Anthony Towns and Los Angeles Lakers (0-1) D’Angelo Russell.  The Timberwolves would pull away late to defeat the Lakers 81 -68 in front of a packed Thomas and Mack Center.  Karl-Antony Towns scored 12 points, but only managed to pull down 3 rebounds in the win over the Lakers.  Zach LaVine was the overall leading scorer with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Lakers second overall pick D’Angelo Russell finished the game with 8 points and 6 assists in under 27 minutes of play, while 2014 NBA Draft pick Julius Randle finished with 9 points in his first game back from suffering a leg injury in the regular season last year.  Full Box Score Below.

NBA D-LEAGUE SELECT VS. HOUSTON ROCKETS

The Houston Rockets defeated the NBA D-League Select in a high scoring game 111-104.  The Rockets were led by Alan Williams with 27 points 10 rebounds.  Glen Rice also contributed in the win over D-League Select with at 20 point 6 rebound performance.  Scotty Hopson had 27 points in the loss to the Rockets.   Full Box Score Below.

GOLDEN ST. WARRIORS VS. CLEVELAND CAVALIERS

Final game of the night would feature the 2015 NBA Champion and Runner Up.  No Steph Curry of King James, but the Warriors were able to defeat the Cavaliers by a final score of 85-73.  Golden St. James Michael McAdoo finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assist in the win over the Cavs.  Cavaliers 2nd round pick of the 2015 NBA Draft scored only 6 points while managing to pulled down one rebound.  Full Box Score Below.
