KEYS TO VICTORY Michigan st. spartans
Michigan State is coming off a tough 77-64 win against Providence in the Wooden Legacy. The No. 3 team in the country is led by their All-American senior guard Denzel Valentine. Valentine averages 19.9 points with 8.9 rebounds in 30 minutes per game. The Spartans will look to create through Valentine, who is capable of breaking opponents off the dribble in transition for easy scores or use his 8.9 assists per game to find the wide open shooter in the corner to knock down the three. The Spartans as a team are shooting 41.1 percent from three, led by Bryn Forbes 50 percent shooting on 18 of 36 from behind the arch. Michigan State must keep the Cardinals off the glass to limit their second chance baskets. Keeping the rebounding even with the Cardinals, taking care of the basketball and getting easy transition baskets are keys to the Spartans staying undefeated.
KEYS TO VICTORY – Louisville cardinals
Louisville recently joined the AP Top 25 a day after defeating the Saint Louis Billikens 77-57 in Brooklyn, New York Sunday, November 29th. The Cardinals will travel to East Lansing tomorrow night to avenge a loss that cost them a trip to the Final Four a year ago. This year’s Cardinals are led by 5th year transfer senior from Drexel Damion Lee. Lee is averaging 17.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 28 mins of play. Lee is also one of the better three point shooters on the team, averaging 36.4 percent on 8 of 22 shooting. The Louisville Cardinals have an athletic front court that likes to attack the glass helping them pull down 46 rebounds per game. Louisville likes to run and create deflections to get easy baskets, but most of their offense comes off of second chance opportunities from missed shots. Louisville will need to speed Michigan State up, pound the glass, and turn the Spartans over for easy scores to get the road W tomorrow night.
