SEC Football: Saturday Down South: Week 6
It’s that time of that week once again: football down south on Saturdays. The SEC has already shocked the nation with games such as the Rebels of Ole Miss marching into to Tuscaloosa to knock off Alabama 42-37 and the next week, Alabama furiously defeating Georgia on the road by a score of 38-10. This week, there are only 6 SEC games (four of those featuring two SEC teams colliding). The possibility of upset always looms in the air, but maybe not so much this week.
GAMES AND PREDICTIONS:
New Mexico St. @ #14 Ole Miss
Look for the Rebels to hit the ground runnin’ after their first loss of the season last week in Gainesville. Kelly and the Rebel offense should have no problem lighting up the scoreboard once again.
PREDICTION: Ole Miss 57-NM St. 7
Troy @ Mississippi St
Dak Prescott and crew at home will easily reel in their 4th win of the season.
PREDICTION: Miss St 35-Troy 3
Arkansas @ #8 Alabama
The Tide rolled over a good Georgia team last week on the road…look for them to keep this momentum up playing in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night.
PREDICTION: Bama 31-Arkansas 20
South Carolina @ #7 LSU
The fact that this game was moved to Saturday afternoon in Baton Rouge due to flooding in South Carolina does not help the Gamecocks’ chances of pulling off an upset at all. Carolina’s defense, coming into the game allowing 170.0 rushing yards per contest (81st in the nation), will square off with perhaps the best runningback the nation has to offer: Leonard Fournette. Look for Fournette to rack up at least 200 yards on the ground for the fourth straight game.
PREDICTION: LSU 28-SCAR 14
Dalton’s SEC Game of the Week: #11 Florida @ Missouri
The Gators have started perfect with a 5-0 record (3-0 in the SEC) under 1st year HC Jim McElwain. They take on an upset minded Missouri team on the road led by JR dual-threat QB Matty Mauk.
PREDICTION: Florida becomes bowl eligible with a 21-17 win over the Tigers.
Dalton’s Upset Alert of the Week: #19 Georgia @ Tennessee
Coming off an embarrassing loss at home against Alabama, Nick Chubb and the Georgia Bulldogs travel to Knoxville to take on the Volunteers who have had disastrous second halves.
PREDICTION: QB Josh Dobbs shows that Tennessee can win a big game by handing Georgia their second straight loss 42-31
