Adrien Broner vs. Khabib Allakhverdiev Preview, Tale of Tape, Prediction

This Saturday night October 3, 2015, live from U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, the #2 WBA contender Adrien “The Problem” Broner (30-2, 22 KOs) will compete against the #5 WBA contender Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9 KOs) for the vacant WBA light welterweight championship belt.  The boxing match is scheduled to be televised on Showtime Championship Boxing at 9PM ET/7 PM PT. Analyzed Sports will be in the building to capture the story line post fight night.  Both fighters will try to rebound after tough losses from their previous bouts, Allakhverdiev lost his 140 lb belt to Jesse Vargas in April of 2014, while Broner while try to rebound from the tough defeat in June to fellow Ohioan Shawn Porter. With a win on Oct 3rd, Broner can capture his fourth title at four different weight classes, with the other titles coming in the 130, 135, and 147 pound weight divisions.

“I’m excited to be back in Cincinnati taking on a tough world class fighter who is going to bring it,” said Broner, one of the sport’s most polarizing personalities. “This fight means the world to me. It’s a huge deal to have the chance to be a four-division world champion at 26 years old.”

The final press conference is scheduled for today at 3pm at U.S. Bank Arena, while the Official Weigh-In is scheduled for Friday, October 2, at 4pm ET from the Cincinnati Marriott at RiverCenter in Covington, KY. The Official Weigh-In is free and open to the public.  Tickets for the fight can be purchased here.

This might be one of the toughest fight of Khabib Allakhverdiev’s professional career this Saturday, Oct 3rd.  Khabib will have to travel to the hometown of Adrien “The Problem” Broner in Cincinnati, Ohio and try to upset a fighter who is still upset from his previous loss to Shawn Porter.  Good Luck with that one.

“I expect Broner to try to play his game, but we will play our game.” said Khabib. “The experience I gained after losing the title in my last fight [against Jesse Vargas] is that I really understand the opportunity that I am being given going into this fight. “I am not worried about fighting in Broner’s hometown. I have fought many fighters in their own cities and it doesn’t bother me. “On Saturday night, I will show the fans a great fight and come out with the victory.”

Khabib is the taller fighter of the two, but the overall speed, power, and boxing ability of Adrien Broner will be too much for the former champion out of Russia.  Look for Broner to stay aggressive in this fight in hopes to get an impressive victory against Khabib.  Adrien will easily win this fight in the distance by unanimous decision, although Allakhverdiev will put up a good effort throughout this championship matchup.
