Floyd Mayweather vs. Andre’ Berto Tale of Tape, Preview, Prediction

It’s Showtime. Mr. 300 million in 36 minutes Floyd “Money Mayweather, will step in the squared circle one final time to face off against the current WBA Welterweight Interim Champion Andre’ “The Beast” Berto.  The boxing event is less than 30 days away. After months of speculation, Mayweather vs. Berto is scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, NV on Saturday, September 12, 2015.  The fight will be televised live on Showtime pay-per-view ($64.95/$74.95HD) at 8 pm EST.  Floyd Mayweather, who is looking to end his career undefeated at 49-0 chose Berto as his final opponent, because he feels he’s a tough competitor and exciting fighter.  Many boxing fans and sports writers across the country disagree and feel this will be an easy opponent and victory for the future Hall of Famer.

“I chose Berto because he’s very exciting. Andre Berto is going to push Floyd Mayweather to the limit. That’s one thing I do know. “Berto always gives an exciting fight. If he gets knocked down he gets back up. He always give 100 percent. Fast hands, good boxer. “I know what it takes when it’s a fight of this magnitude, because I’ve been fighting on pay-per-view for over 10 years. Berto is a very tough guy, he’s hungry and he’s not going to lie down.”

Berto (30-3) is coming off a controversial 6th round knockout victory against Josesito Lopez as apart of the Premier Boxing Champions series on March 13, 2015.  Andre’ Berto is not concerned with the critics and feels he’s definitley an opponent that’s capable of breaking the May Vinci Code and giving Mayweather his first loss as a boxing professional.

“This is a fight that I felt Floyd still wanted to make happen. Him coming off of the Pacquiao fight, of course it’s easy for people to downplay me. I can’t worry about that and I’m not worried about that. “Have you ever seen a boring Andre Berto fight? At the end of the day we work our butt off, I’ve been working for a long time. Right now, the harvest is coming. We sowed the seeds and the time is now. “I bring that rare combination of speed, power and explosiveness to the table. The last person he bought with that combination was Zab Judah. I’m younger, I’m hungry; I’m strong and fast. I’m focused on what I’m coming to get.”

Is Andre’ Berto a relentless warrior? Yes, Is Berto an exciting fighter? Yes, Will Berto be able to defeat Floyd Mayweather come September 12th? Absolutely Not!  Here’s why. Floyd wants everyone to tune into what he says will be an exciting fight on September 12th, but how does he expect for the boxing public to get up for a fighter that loss to Robert Guerrero, and Victor Ortiz, two fighters Mayweather beat convincingly? Let’s not even get into the TKO loss to 10 loss Jesus Soto Karass.   Put it like this, the odds makers in Vegas set the money line at (-4000) in favor of Floyd “Money” Mayweather.  For anyone that doesn’t know how to read boxing money lines, bettors who wager must put down $4000 to win $100.  Does Floyd expect us to go against the people who make a living off of setting spreads? I think Mayweather wouldn’t take that bet. The seven time world champion knows he’s going to win this fight easily despite the things he says.  Will it be an exciting fight? possibly, because I expect Mayweather to win his final fight in impressive fashion with a knockout in round number 9 to retire at 49-0. Bring on Canelo vs. Cotto, a real fight for boxing fans to witness at the end of 2015.
