Karl-Anthony Towns Jr. wins National Gatorade Player of the Year
Congratulations to incoming Kentucky freshman Karl-Anthony Towns Jr. Tonight the ESPY’S recognized him for receiving the National Gatorade Male High-School Player of the year for 2014. Brandon Knight another National Gatorade Player of the year recipient presented the award to Towns Jr Tuesday night in California. Athletes from across the country must meet the follow criteria to be consider for the award, they must excel in academics, athletic achievement, and show good sportsmanship on and off the court. Towns Jr carried his high school team to a title while averaging 20 pts 13 rebs, and 6 blocks a game. He graduated with a 3.96 GPA in the classroom, and volunteered his time in his community. Lebron James, Dwight Howard, Kevin Love, and Andrew Wiggins are some of the past winners of this prestigious award. Notre Dame’s Brianna Turner received National Gatorade Female High School Player of the year.
