Kevin Durant Supports Thunders’ decision 100%
Oklahoma City Thunder General Manager Sam Presti decided to part ways with 7 season head coach Scott Brooks yesterday as the news sent shock ways throughout the sports world. Scott Brooks was hired in back in 2008 and finished with a record of 338-207 (62%). Brooks also received NBA Coach of the Year in 2009-2010, while also coaching the franchise to a NBA Finals and 3 Western Conference Finals during his tenure.
“We have a deep appreciation for all that Scott has contributed to the Thunder organization over the last seven years,” Thunder chairman Clayton I. Bennett said. “While a very hard decision, I support the need to transition to a new coach that will allow us to continue the growth and progress that will help us reach all of our goals.”
Thunder Forward Kevin Durant who sat most of this season with a foot injury took to his Instagram account to show his support for both the Thunder organization and Scott Brooks.
As far as the next coach to replace Scott Brooks, it has been widely reported that Sam Presti will seek good friend Florida Gator’s Men’s basketball coach Billy Donovan. The Thunder failed to missed the playoffs this season by literally a loss to Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans by a regular season buzzer beater. Can an unproven college coach be the answer to getting the team over the hump? That’s an answer that remains to be seen. What’s your thoughts on the decision? Who should be the next coach to replace Scott Brooks?
