Floyd Mayweather Jr broke news of his next fight from his twitter account.
Floyd did a great service to boxing fans across the world by allowing them to select his next opponent. Amir Khan or Marcos Maidana were the two choices. Boxing fans selected Marcos Maidana as Floyd’s next fight scheduled for May 3rd 2014 in Brooklyn NY or Las Vegas NV. I’m glad Amir Khan got out voted because the former two-time champ was badly beaten by Danny “Swift” Garcia in his last fight. In my informed opinion, if Amir was unable to beat Garcia, there is no chance for him to beat the best pound for pound in Floyd Money Mayweather Jr. Maidana on the other hand is coming off an upset victory over Adrien Broner. Broner had a rematch clause to try to rebound from his embarrassing loss to Maidana, but I guess he had to call on big brother to fight his battle for him. Maidana has a punchers chance if he can apply and keep up pressure all night as he did in the Broner fight. This makes this a more intriguing fight because of the punching power of Maidana. I don’t believe there is anyone out there that can beat Floyd Mayweather Jr, but at least he’s giving the fans across the boxing world what they want this time around.
