Watch Klay Thompson’s Record Setting 3rd Quarter
Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson was shooting the lights out of Oracle Arena in Oakland, California Friday night. The rowdy crowd of 19,596 witnessed history, as Klay Thompson scored a career high of 52 points to help the Warriors defeat the Sacramento Kings 121 – 101. Not only did Thompson get his career high last night, he also set an NBA record for most points scored in any quarter. He was in the zone scoring 37 of his teams 41 points all in the 3rd quarter. He was perfect in the 3rd going 13-13 from the field including 9-9 from 3pt range, while also connecting on both of his free-throws. The 37 point quarter broke the record set by George “Ice Man” Gervin in 1978 (33) that was later matched in 2008 by Carmelo Anthony. Overall he finished the game with 52 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 rebounds, while going 16-25 (64%) from the field, 11-15 from 3 (73%) and 9-10 (90%) from the free throw line.
“It was crazy, I don’t really know what happened” Thompson said after the game.”
